Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve had an entrepreneurial wild-hearted spirit, a free-thinker if you will – daydreaming in a world of words on pages and sunlit skies. From the young age of 11, when I had my first poem published, until much later in life, I had a constant desire to live my dreams writing stories from a beachfront scenic view. So I did what every passionate and driven young adult does – I went to college, thinking that’s what I had to do to “make it”. I followed the path I learned about all my life, and I pursued an education in Psychology because I wanted to understand first myself and then others – understanding is the key to writing any great story worth telling.
Something they never teach you in school: life experience is far more valuable than education, complimentary yes, but it’s also the foundation upon which any life is built.
I learned from a very young age that writing was a tool I could use to help myself heal. Having experienced trauma as a child, I needed an outlet, and writing saved me and helped turn me into the person I am today. You can click here to read more about my story on The Huffington Post.
For years, from the age of 14, I dealt with suffocating anxiety. It was a difficult battle, but I learned, through my education at Liberty University and my experiences in life, that stress will always come, a new challenge will always arise, but as long as you know how to find a solution that works for you – one of peace, and one that can really help you live your best life possible – it’ll always be ok.
My faith has always played an important role in my life; it’s the center of who I am, how I live, and what I do. I’m a Christian that loves all, judges not a single soul, and seeks to not only do what I love, but live a mission lifestyle. I want to help as many women as I can pursue their own dreams and live their own life while being a light in a world that can be filled with so much dark and negative emotion. I want to help them discover their authentic, organic voice, and feel empowered enough to share it with the world.
College was the start of my path. I always felt like something was missing to help people overcome anxiety, depression and a negative mindset. I just didn’t know that my path would be nutrition until I saw an advertisement that forever changed my life. I immediately called and enrolled at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in 2012. I remember the thrill, the excitement, and the feeling knowing that I was going to change lives – but first, I’d start with my own.
I learned an intense amount about the holistic modalities like nutrition and the most memorable circle of life that helped each person, myself included, realize that we need to approach life holistically to have a healthy and happy life full of joy and abundance. This is true for nutrition, relationships, careers, spirituality, creativity, and finances – to name a few.
This is where I came full circle.
I finally discovered those missing pieces that were stopping me from living my dreams. I had held onto negative and unworthy thinking because I still held onto the mindset of being a child abuse victim. I looked in all the wrong places for healing and love, and like a broken record I endured relationship after relationship that involved abuse and infidelity.
When I graduated from IIN, I immediately started pouring myself into putting my business and brand together in a way that felt right to me and aligned with my mission, my passion. I created my own website, wrote my own copy, designed my own site, and managed my business effectively and efficiently to attract clients. It was like I was coming home to myself. For the last few years, I’d earned extra money writing term papers for college students, marketing businesses for family and friends, and somehow not realizing that these were my natural-born skills and the missing piece of the puzzle to living my own authentic life. It didn’t hurt that I also turned out to be really skilled at putting together websites, planning marketing and development strategies and helping people grow and develop their own businesses.
Healing only comes with letting go, and I could finally start healing when I began to forgive those who had hurt me, move on from the abusive relationship cycle and started falling in love with myself, God, and my teenage love who I reconnected with and eventually married.
I needed more of this in my life. This is where I realized that I wanted to impact on a different level. Of course I enjoyed coaching and creating original nutrition programs and workshops for myself and for coaches, but what I really enjoyed doing was empowering each individual coach to create a bigger impact by discovering what it is they should specialize in, how to overcome their own mindset and past that holds them back from succeeding on a bigger level, how to show up online with a brand that represents who they are as a person – how to manage an online business to avoid being overwhelmed and, most important, my true love – how to put their ideas into words that can sell products, programs, and coaching offerings through their websites, their blogs, their emails, and their own trademarked programs.
After completing nearly four years at Liberty University, four classes shy of my Bachelor’s Degree, I fully realized that my true passion would never exist inside an office environment providing counseling.
I felt a calling to serve globally, to help entrepreneurs influence the world, to help people heal.
I see my impact daily, happening as a ripple effect – every time someone finds one of the entrepreneurs that I have helped, two lives are affected: the entrepreneur’s and their client’s. Those people then go on to help their own families get healthier, better and happier and so, every day, lives are improved, one person at a time.
Where I am now
Faith, Family, Work
I’ve managed to create balance in all areas of my life and built a space where I can enjoy planning campaigns, strategizing or just simply writing authentic sales pages, websites, emails and more from the comforts of my home, with my children quietly playing in the next room with my husband. I can go camping with my family in the summer on weekends in Pennsylvania and keep working from the trailer in the Poconos. My work can travel with me.
I have three beautiful children, two sons and a daughter who light up my life and they are the reason my husband Frank and I work so hard – to give our children the life we’d always imagined. We make sure they have security, dependability, love; and we strive to teach them that it’s important to rise above your circumstances, live your purpose, and continually put in the effort and hard work to create your best life.
Best of all, I get to work with women entrepreneurs who dream of living their life and working on their own terms, making a difference where it matters to them, and being present in their own lives and families. With each marketing strategy I plan, with each website I help create, with each sales page I write, I know that what I’m doing matters to someone and that what they do matters to someone else – and so, by helping each other in the ways we best know how, we make the world a better place one step at a time.
